About

So you’ve been to a dozen Smithsonians, even tramped out to the Cathedral and the National Arboretum, but now you’re looking to fill that Saturday.  I’ll help you uncover hidden treasures in my adopted city and discover what happens “where the beltway ends”…

I’m Jessica, a twenty-something who has lived in the District long enough to start wanting to find activities off the beaten path.   I will do my best to let you know details about my adventures so that you can have them too!  The main focus of this blog is the more undiscovered side of DC, from food markets to exhibits to activities.  I’ll also throw in occasional features such as DIY and Daytripper to get a comprehensive look at living la vida local.  Let me know if you’ve got any tips!

  1. A buddy of mine just found your article on us. Thank you so much! Great article. We’re totally excited. And that was June 1st! Come on down to Wonderland now…it’s almost packed. And come say “hi.”

    Kenny the drummer.

Feel free to send our website around of course :-)

  2. Hi Sarah and Jessica,

Just discovered your blog post about Field of Flowers – which I pass daily. Would love for you to come out to DC’s Wine Country (aka Loudoun County) again to discover the 25 wineries, great B&Bs and wonderful farm – to – table restaurants – including The Wine Kitchen (www.thewinekitchen.com) and family attractions, such as Great Country Farms (www.greatcountryfarms.com), the largest u-pick and CSA farm in Northern Virginia. Please let me know if you need help organizing such a trip.

    Take care,
    Chris

Enjoyed your most recent blog about the Hana Market. Would love to visit it next time we’re in DC.

  4. Thanks for the blog reference. I’ve added you to mine because I really like yours too. Looking forward to reading your posts.
